Q. I already pay monthly for website hosting, isn’t this part of hosting?
A. Website hosting service covers the storage and delivery of your website and e-mail. The hosting fee covers the disk space and the bandwidth that your site uses on our servers. The features in our Digital Care Plans focus more on the software used to run your website.
Q. My website is not hosted by AMS, can I still use this service?
A. Yes you can, but there may be some limitations in regards to backups. Our servers have customized backup solutions that may not be available on your host, but we will still be able to backup the site for you.
Q. What is included in minor website updates?
A. Included in the website updates are new posts or pages, navigation menu updates and image and slider updates.
Q. What is not included in minor website updates?
A. Anything that requires extensive programming, such as a new design or a new website function or feature. This would be billed on an hourly basis.
Q. Can I just apply the updates on my own? WordPress makes it so easy!
A. Yes you can! But the risk is that the update may break the design or function of the website, and then you need to pay for an wait for us to repair it. It could be a quick fix, or it could be more involved. You would be responsible for the time for us to repair the website if you are not subscribed to a care plan.
Q. What if my website is hacked?
A. If your website is hacked while you are subscribed to a digital care plan, AMS will restore and or repair it at no additional cost to you. If you are not under a care plan subscription, you will be billed for the time it takes to restore or repair the website.
Q. Does the update time carry over if not used?
A. No it doesn’t, and here’s why. We WANT you to update your website on a regular basis. Websites today are built to be updated. If you’re not taking advantage of that, you’re missing out.
